Midnattsloppet regarding the coronavirus

Due to the regulations from the Public Health Agency of Sweden, that were put in effect on the 1st of April, Midnattsloppet has decided to halt registration to all races in Sweden until further notice. The new directives put restrictions on public gatherings, travel and recommend keeping distance to other people.

Why is Midnattsloppet halting registrations?

We’re currently in a highly uncertain situation and no one knows how the situation will develop in the coming months. Organizing a Midnattsloppet race requires extensive preparations and we need some time to evaluate the situation and working on solutions based on different scenarios.

Will the Midnattsloppet races be organized as planned?

There is still a lot of time until the races and we hope that we’ll be able to organize them as planned. However, there are no guarantees for how the recommendations from the Public Health Agency will be closer to the race.

I’m registered to the race, will I be reimbursed for the registration fee?

If we would be in a situation where the races would need to be cancelled, we will inform all registered participants on what applies.

Updates and new information

We’re updating information on our web page and our social media (Facebook and Instagram). We naturally monitor the development daily and will release more information about the races in 2020 on the 30th of May at the latest. We will also send information via email to alla registered participants.

Keep running

At the moment it might be difficult to keep up the training and find motivation and energy. At the same time, it’s more important than ever to take care of your energy levels and to boost your immune system through physical activities. With the current restrictions, running is a great way to maintain your physical and mental well-being. We want to encourage everyone to safely enjoy some outdoor exercise, just remember to keep the safety distance. Let’s take care of each other and stay healthy!
